Grants

Continuing Education Grants

Continuing Education Grants provide financial assistance for pastors who attend qualifying continuing education events. Current grants for elders and deacons provide up to the lesser of $300 or 75% of the event cost and are available annually through the Ministerial Education Fund. For Local Pastors the amount is up to $150 or 75% of the event cost. Download application. Thank you.

CE Requirements

The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church requires all pastors serving under appointment to complete continuing education (CE). In the Indiana Conference, the Professional Development Panel, a sub-group of the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, has been established to provide both educational opportunities for pastors (BOD ¶634.2n) and oversight for the completion of continuing education requirements (see BOD ¶634.2q).

Minimum continuing education units required per conference year (July 1 to June 30) have been established for all persons serving under appointment in the Indiana Conference and are listed below. One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is equal to 1 contact hour. Download guidelines.
